AAM Aftermarket Announces TracRite® GT Limited Slip Differential for GM 8.6" Rear Axle

American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM) has designed and developed a Helical Gear Limited Slip Differential case for replacement in the GM 8.6" rear axle. This differential provides many traction-enhancing capabilities for most driving conditions, especially in vehicles equipped with traction control systems. This differential uses the same technology AAM designed into the 11.5" Limited Slip differential for GM pickup trucks from 2001 - 2011.
"Since this differential uses helical gears, there are no clutch plates to wear and no friction additives are needed," explained Pat Angst, AAM Aftermarket Senior Manager. "The TracRite(R) GT is compatible with ABS, traction, and stability control systems."
The TracRite GT provides maximum torque bias without causing a shutter in the vehicle and maintains its torque bias throughout the life of the vehicle. Its torque bias is proportional to the throttle, providing a smooth application of torque to the wheels.
The same bearing kits used for the 8.6" open differential can be used to install this differential case as well.

AAM Differential cases are machined and assembled to the high quality standards and tolerances that original manufacturers require. They are designed and tested for each specific vehicle application.
